Scrapbook Sisters Week 29

Wow, it was another amazing week with an awesome number of entries for challenge 28 at Scrapbook Sisters! This weeks challenge is bound to be just as popular, with Mothers day being this Sunday, the theme for Week 29 is Mum or Special Lady. I used a lovely Meljens image and teamed it up with papers from the Forever Friends Goodlife Retro Collection paper pack. I added buttons to the centre of each flower and used Sizzix Moxi Alphabet to cut M U M. Using a Copic fine liner I added additional stitching to the image and around the papers I also used stickles to the centres of the coloured flowers.

Happy Birthday Karen!

It's my mate Karen over at Scrapbook Sisters' birthday today so I thought you'd like to see the card I made for her. I'm hoping that Julie has passed the card on to her before she reads my post today but if she hasn't DON'T LOOK KAREN!!!! Karen is a great lover of "Molly Blooms" so I thought I'd use the stamp that I got free with a magazine along with the "Forever Friends Good life" clear stamps to make the postmark. These are available at Scrapbook Sisters, I can't see them on their website at the mo but I'm sure that if you gave them a ring they'd be able to help you. It's a great set with a couple of different post marks and various other sentiments. I'm using this card for the following challenges:- Make It Monday 30,Inspirational,
OLLC76,Special friends,

Pollycraft 86,Friends,

IDICCB48,Pink and purple,

Allsorts 96,Special lady,

Fussy Background

I'm going to keep it short tonight, the clocks change and the idea of an hour less in bed doesn't thrill me.
I'm not sure that I like this card, the backgrounds a bit too fussy for my liking,I really struggle with patterned papers.
The digi is by Mo manning,I so loved colouring this one, I haven't a home for this card,One for the box I think unless I decide to dismantle it which is highly probable!

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Wee Memories 49,Anything goes,
Paper Cutz 84,Use 3 patterned papers,
Friday Sketchers 147,Sketch,
Papertake,Girlie.
That's all from me tonight,

Happy Birthday Mum!

I'm so glad that you've called by to witness a MAJOR achievement for me :) I know that for most of you lovely bloggers that this is a simple task but for me it is HUGE!!!!
I've cut the excess off from the edge of my photo using paint! lol,if anyone asks me how I did it I have absolutely no idea but I did it,even my son said "Well done mum,I'm really proud of you!"
I'm doing a major happy dance :) Maybe I can start posting scrapbook layouts more often.

(Please ignore the rectangle in the corner, just put your thumb over it as you read)
Anyway, it was my Mum's 83rd birthday today so I thought that in honour of the occasion that I'd do something different for a change and enter my very first Scrapbooking Challenge, I looked for a photo of just my mum but ended up with a lovely photo of my mum and dad when they were first "Courting".
I know that I'm on the card design team for Scrapbook Sisters but I'm not too talented when it comes to scrapbooking so I'm hoping that Karen and Julie will humour me and let me enter the New Monthly Scrapbook Challenge, the theme for the March challenge is "Framed". I used a selection of DP's from K&Co's Poppyseed 12x12 paper pack, used my Martha Stewart border punch to create a frame around my paper and dug out some Sizzix dies to create the flower and flourish embellie and Sizzix Sunset Alphabet for the title.

I think that the photo was taken at Margate's Dream Land though I'm not 100% sure, must check with mum before I add any journal ling to the rear of the layout.

So here goes,I'm entering this layout for the following challenges:-
Scrapbook Sisters,Framed,
Crafts and Me 27,Anything goes,
Anything Goes Challenge,Make your own embellishment,
Tuesday Throwdown 41,Anything but a card,
Make It Monday 29,Inspirational,
Sugar Creek Hollow,Anything goes.

Southern Girls 15

Hi there,it's still Wednesday and I'm back again with my second post and second easel card of the day,(please scroll down for the earlier post.) Challenge 14 at Southern girls was such a popular one and I'm sure that Challenge 15 will be also. The theme is "Add An Animal" in my case,I've added a bear, how cute is she, the image is Bea by Teddy Bo and is called,"Stop and smell the roses",she was gorgeous to colour. Teddy Bo are one of the challenge sponsors along with "Michelle's Scrapbooking" I used a felt brad to the centre of my flower so thought I'd cut out MUM from purple felt to compliment it using my Quickutz Moxi alphabet and the Cuttlebug. The lace across my card was actually removed from the cap sleeves of an outgrown school summer dress,it was so pretty and you know what they say, waste not, want not!
I used a white gel pen to add stitches to the papers which were free with a magazine and added 3d glaze to the wellie boots. If anyone sees me out and about, remind me to buy some new glossy accents as I've come to the bottom of the bottle!
I then added some flat backed self adhesive gems and popped up the sentiment using foam dots.
I did the Nestie trick to cut out the image leaving the hat and box outside of the cut.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

A Spoonfull Of Sugar 144,pearls,ribbon,rhinestones,flowers, Creative Craft,Lace,

Karen's Doodles 55,More than one fold,

Two Sisters 31,Furry friends,

CYDA16,For mum,

ECP34,For Mum,

OCC,Don't throw that away.

Scrapbook Sisters 28

Happy Wednesday! the sun has certainly started to put in an appearance this week so with that in mind I thought I'd add one to my DT card for this weeks challenge at Scrapbook Sisters. The theme for the latest challenge is "Anything Goes", so come on,excel yourself, show us what you've got!I thought I'd make an easel card and use some of the remains from the Nitwit's topper sheet. Now,I couldn't make up my mind what sort of greeting to add,I wanted something a little witty,I was thinking along the lines of,"Some Bunny Loves You" or "You Make Me So Very Hoppy",any ideas? answers on the back of a sealed envelope please lol! The card isn't for an anniversary or anything, just one to give to Karen to put in the shop hopefully to inspire someone to try out these brilliant press out A4 topper sheets.I used my circle Nestabilities to create the hills and the sunshine. The row of carrots are placed below the rabbits using a double thickness of foam tape, the flowers serve as the stopper on the easel placed with foam dots.

I'll be back later in the day with another card.

Beside The Sea Side

Looks like we could be in for a good week weather wise,it's been another lovely sunny day today,I do hope that you've been blessed with good weather too. Back in October I won a challenge at Prairie Fairie and picked out some digis for my winners prize I chose "Hoisting the sails" thinking it would be perfect for a man's card so here it is. I teamed it with the lovely comical Seagull, part of set Suzy 5 by Marij Rahder and used up papers from a class project from ages ago. I then added some paper string and a charm, perfect.

I coloured the images using Copics.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Make it Monday 29,Inspirational,
OSAAT54,For the boys,
SSSC109,Sketch,
CES28,Inspired By A Song,(Oh I do like to be beside the seaside)
Stamping Vacation,What a guy,boating theme,

Two Hearts!

What a lovely day it's been in my little corner of the world, the sun has been shining and we've been for a long brisk walk along the Sea Wall. I think everyone else had the same idea as the world and their dog was also out walking. It was nice to go out minus a coat though I still wore a scarf and my hoodie, I don't like to get cold.
Today I'm sharing a little card that I made for a wedding acceptance. A simple card, just a little bit of die cutting and a punch,I'm not sure that the flowery ribbon was the right decision, maybe a simple piece of white satin would have looked better, hey ho,it's too late now. Excuse the photo, the white looks a bit flat and the die cuts seem to have cast shadows,I did emboss the scalloped edge and the edges of the square but it doesn't show up very well.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
CES28,Inspired by a song,(Two Hearts,Kylie Minogue),
Fun With Shapes and More 79,No DP,
Paper Cutz 83,Your Choice,
CCC11,To Die for,
TLT19,WOW.
Thanks for stopping by today,Have a great week,

OTT?

I can't make cards any more :( it's not like me but I'm really not feeling like I can do this anymore. I've got a few cards that I really have to make as occasions are looming. I don't know if it's because I've not made any for a few days and I'm out of the swing or maybe it's because I haven't had time to blog hop, that can get those creative juices going. Anyway, this card looks a bit as if I've gone back a couple of years but I do know that my mum will love it. I used my latest purchase, some new Nestie Squares and Scalloped Squares, I also treated myself to a new Paper trimmer as my trusty Fiskars is struggling. My new one is a Martha Stewart,it has a great slide out extension which means you can line paper up from the bottom as well as the top,I'm not so impressed with the way you have to change between the blade and scorer but I'm hoping that I can buy an additional slider to make it easier. Does anyone else think that these paper trimmer designers should design a slightly longer one so that you don't need to remove the edge strip from 12x12 papers!!! Anyway I think the card is self explanatory, I have no idea where I got those flowers from, they've been in my drawer for ages. I used some quickutz dies on the card and brushed the tulle with some stickles.

I'm using this card for the following challenges :-
Art Impressions 8,Getting punchy,
Charisma Cards 11,To Die For,
DYSU11,Add a bow,
Stashbuster 1,Anything goes,
Papertake Weekly,Triotastic,(White flowers, gems)
Crafty Creations 110,Mothers day,
Anything Goes Challenge,Die Cuts,
Bearly Mine 6,Mothers day,
DCD85,Mothers day,
Happichallenge 14,Recipe.
Thanks for stopping by,will try harder next time!

Scrapbook Sisters Week 27.

Can You believe that it's Wednesday already! Time for another Card Challenge and week 27 at Scrapbook Sisters has the theme Easter Flowers. Now,normally I'd go for my old faithful when it comes to Easter cards and use my lovely Tulip stamp,(if you take a look at last years card, excuse the photo, what a difference a year of blogging has made :)
This year though,I thought I'd have a go at using the beautiful digi by Gayle Bond,it is due to be released any day now and is available exclusively at Scrapbook Sisters. I coloured it using Copics and cut the cross out and used pop dots to mount the circle frame and then the image. I must admit it took me a while to decide on the layout of the card but once I decided to cut the cross out instead of leaving it as the rectangular shape I originally had planed, the rest fell in to place.

It would be lovely if you joined in with this weeks card challenge, there's also now a monthly Scrapbook Challenge that's started if you fancy giving it a go.
Thanks for stopping by today,

No Hangover!

What a miserable day we're having today,it's been drizzling on and off all day. After last Sunday's drunk "Friend" I thought that this week I'd do it my way! Big improvement don't you think? I'm not going to rattle on about this card though, it's a bit of a brain dead card really but I didn't have much time to play today.
.
I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Little Claires 2,Flowers,
Alphabet Challenge,S is for stripes,
DYSU 10,Layers,
It will be a bit of a quiet week from me again I'm afraid so I apologise that I'm not doing as much commenting at the mo but I do still call by to see your beautiful creations from my phone in my lunch breaks.

Yellow Submarine.

Hi there,I'm back again with the last Tag shaped card for the time being,do I hear you heave a sigh of relief? This one's for a guitar playing Beetles loving male colleague.

The sheet music I found with the use of google and "With A Little Help From My Friend" sorry couldn't help myself,it was actually my daughter. Anyway,Yellow Submarine you can get as a free download so I just played around to get the size I wanted, embossed it in a cuttlebug script folder then distressed it with Inks,The tag and the Guitar were cut using the Cricut and the notes were cut using some old Sizzix dies that have been tucked away for ages..

I'm using this for the following challenges:-
Papertake Weekly,Anything goes plus use something old,
Cupcake 131,Anything but square,
Dream Valley 1,Anything goes,
I Did it 43,Punches or dies.
Well, that's me for today,if you think I only make tag cards, call back tomorrow and I'll prove you wrong! :)
I almost forgot to say,for all you Scrapbookers out there, there's a new monthly challenge started up at Scrapbook sisters,be sure to call by their blog to find out all about it! This months theme is "Framed".
